Crashworthiness is one of the most important criteria in the design of piping systems, suspension pipes in particular or energy absorbers in general. The objective of this paper is to study the deformation of thin-walled tube subjected to impact three-point bending using numerical simulation. Results are agreed very well with theoretical and experimental results. Based on the finite element modeling, deformation of thin-walled tubeis presented when thediameter andspacingoftwo supporters change. Limited ratio of diameter and thickness is clarified to prevent overall bending in designing circular tube.
